Our B&B in Bath

Our B&B in Bath was not the most exciting one we stayed at.  It was a decent place, although you got the feeling that it wasn't 100% clean although couldn't prove it.  The regular owner was not there that weekend, but his replacement was very nice although obviously running a B&B was not her idea of fun.

The place was Membland Guest House at 7 Pulteney Terrace on Pulteney Road.  Odd name, don't you think??  One downside is that Pulteney Road is a major road with traffic all night.  While our room was at the front of the house, the windows are fairly sound proof.  The only down side was that it was actually a bit warm in our room and so we could not leave the windows open all night.

The breakfast was a full English breakfast.  I believe it was the only one we had.  For those that arent familiar, there's great and unusual variety (from an American's point of view), so for us our plates had a few untouched elements.

Our room had a shower and sink in it, but now toilet.  That was a bit tough, especially when Melissa woke up having to go but there was someone in there.  Not only that but they were going, shall we say, number two.  I don't think it was a pleasant experience for Melissa.

One nice thing about the location of the B&B was that it was a fairly short walk into the City.  I'm not sure everyone would consider it a short walk, but we do a lot of walking when we travel.  It took maybe 10 minutes to cross the river and find a place to grab something to eat.

What we missed out on was the flowers.  Apparently this B&B is known for its great flower displays in the summer.  It still had a large variety growing in the small garden out front, but all the window boxes were empty.
